Summer Harvest “Dinner is Served”

It was a very special Dinner Is Served at St. Brendan’s Church in Deer Isle was a special one. Dinner began with a Medley of Condiments & Preserves; Hot Pepper Jelly over Red Barn Farm goat cheese, Rabbit Hill Peach Salsa, Island Gardener’s Cucumber Slices and Chilly Dill Spears and Mustard Pickles.

That was followed by the main course Lobster Spring Rolls With Cranberry – Apple Dipping Sauce courtesy Pat & Mike’s cranberries, Wulf Orchard apples, and Cozy Harbor Seafood & Maine Shellfish lobster.

Vegetable & Pasta Salad With toasted sesame dressing came courtesy Ripley Farm carrots, Island cabbages, Green Earth Garden celery, King Hill Farm scallions, Blue Zee tomatoes, Poland Family Farm greens, and Island herbs.

Maine Wild Blueberry Pie with Blue Hill Berry Company wild Maine blueberries and Gifford’s Vanilla Ice Cream with Whipped Cream from Quill’s End Farm. 44 North Coffee furnished the coffee along with Rabbit Hill’s own organic Maine cider.

This wonderful meal was prepared by volunteers led by Cheryl, championing our Maine made foods. The mission of Dinner is Served is to provide healthy and nutritional meals to our friends and neighbors. All are welcome at no charge. Donations are gladly accepted.
